As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Pushnami, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining key systems infrastructure, including but not limited to load balancers, firewalls, and monitoring and alerting systems. Essential Functions:

• Design and implement highly available and scalable cloud-based (AWS) infrastructure that can handle millions of requests per second.
• Implement and manage monitoring tools for real-time visibility into system health.
• Implement, upgrade, and maintain databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Redis, InfluxDB, MySQL, ScyllaDB, DynamoDB, etc.
• Implement and maintain security policies, firewalls, and encryption to protect data.
• Automate repetitive tasks using shell scripting and other automation tools.
• Automate the deployment and management of mission-critical components.
• Ensure solid monitoring and alerting practices are implemented across all layers of the system.
• Continuously optimize the performance of the infrastructure.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure the stability and reliability of the platform.
• Perform root cause analysis of system issues and identify long-term solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations to address critical infrastructure issues.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (3+ years) with designing, planning, and architecting complex infrastructure solutions, including on-premises and cloud-based (AWS) infrastructure.
• Proficiency in system administration tasks for various Linux-based operating systems including server provisioning, configuration management, and software installation.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of networking principles for use in troubleshooting, implementation, and configuration of network components.
• Strong scripting and automation skills are vital for automating routine tasks and ensuring infrastructure scalability and efficiency. Scripting languages like Python and Bash are commonly used.
• Experience with managing and optimizing databases, including SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
• Proficiency in implementing and using monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana, InfluxDB, Prometheus) to ensure system health and performance optimization.
• A strong understanding of security best practices, including implementing security policies, firewalls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments to protect data and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of designing and implementing high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions to ensure system reliability and data protection.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to streamline configuration management and deployment.
• Strong documentation skills to create clear and comprehensive infrastructure documentation, including architecture diagrams and procedures.
• AWS certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, and/or AWS Certified Security Specialty) a plus.
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
