What would you do as a Trauma Patient Liaison?

The Trauma Patient Liaison is responsible for coordinating the care of patients who were seen in the Emergency Room (ER) by one of our providers to optimize the patient experience. You can expect to regularly:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for patients being seen in the Emergency Room (ER) by one of our providers;
  • Provide customer service, maintain confidentiality, and abide by HIPAA requirements.
  • Facilitate positive relationships and communication with hospital staff, providers, ROC staff, and patients;
  • Promptly triage, address and resolve patient messages and/or phone calls and document all conversations in the patients’ electronic medical records;
  • Record medical and patient information accurately in patients’ electronic medical record and other databases/spreadsheets as needed;
  • Collect information from providers and staff regarding patients seen in the Emergency Room (ER) and initiate follow up with patient;
  • Interact with patients, their representatives/family members, physicians, and other medical staff to effectively schedule and direct patients through care at ROC in a patient focused manner.

Requirements

  • Certifications/Education
    • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Knowledge of
    • Customer service principles and practices
  • Experience
    • Working in a healthcare setting and understanding hospital/clinic flow;
    • Using computer systems and applications, including entering data and typing;
    • Performing administrative tasks such as scheduling, answering phone calls, and documenting conversations.

This position operates in a professional office environment.

Physical: The noise level is usually moderate. This position typically works at a computer station.
