Job Description

Job Description: FFP is looking for a talented, diligent system administrator to maintain and administer the company's computer and network systems. The system administrator's responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues, as well as ensuring that all computing operations run with optimal performance and security. They will work collaboratively with IT Team Members to design and implement IT solutions and/or services that support team members and provide seamless customer experiences. The System Administrator will monitor issues related to PCs, servers, hardware, software, and network infrastructure to include firewalls, switches, and WAPs. They will assist in the implementation of necessary controls and procedures to establish and preserve the Company’s information security posture. To be successful as a system administrator, you should have an excellent ability to solve problems using your in-depth understanding of information systems and computing solutions. The system administrator will also be a team player, willing to handle all support requests with courtesy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network devices (firewalls, switches, and WAPs), and virtualization (VMWare and Azure) environments
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers (VMWare and Azure), and integrate system using automation processes
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure
  • Oversee servers in both local and remote environments
  • Create new user accounts, assign appropriate permissions, set passwords, and perform other changes for system users
  • Perform software installations and upgrades to Windows OS and layered software packages
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution, and subsequent documentation of resolution
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
  • Apply patches, upgrades, and service notices to all servers and network equipment
  • Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Company IT systems; assist with the management of company-related technology
  • Oversee backups of systems and the protection of critical systems
  • Understand Disaster Recovery procedures
  • Collaborate amp; contribute to the development and deployment of company assets
  • Assist in the delivery organizational IT Security Awareness programs that include training
  • Research, understand, and prepare for emerging security technology trends
  • Participate in IT planning for Infrastructure and Cybersecurity improvements Other
  • Contributes to the positive team efforts of the organization
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee, potential employee, and organization data

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related; preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Information Technology
  • Strong background in the Microsoft stack with a focus on Microsoft Azure Administration
  • 3-5 years of network administration or system administration experience
  • System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft with a strong focus on Azure Administration (3+ years experience)
  • An ideal candidate will have deep technical Azure platform expertise (Azure SaaS Cloud Services, Azure Cost Management, and Azure Performance Management) and demonstrate high standards of accountability and customer focus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization in VMWare and Azure environments
  • Experience configuring and modifying network devices (firewalls, switches, WAPs)
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Prior experience in Tiers 2 or Tier 3 support
  • Experience with system management tools; preferred
  • Experience with PowerShell; preferred
  • Knowledge of networking infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN) and protocols (TCP/IP)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Azure Active Directory
  • The ability to multi-task and work across a range of projects and issues with various timelines and prior
