About the Role

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Sales, the Strategic Account Manager’s primary responsibility is to develop and grow our key grocery accounts (East) and to deliver growth targets through merchandising goals, marketing campaigns, promotions and new product placement.

  • Develop and execute overall growth strategy for assigned grocery accounts
  • Create and execute promotions based on ROI, case studies and POS data
  • Product penetration; ensure listings are maximized in all assigned accounts and work towards premium placement
  • Ensure accounts follow recommend pricing guidelines
  • Network and build strong relationships with all key customer and industry contacts
  • Manage brokers assigned to the customers under your responsibility
  • Ongoing research of the accounts, industry and channel to help create each accounts’ strategy
  • Input and influence forecast sales in units and dollars and provide monthly updates to the Operations teams and other internal stakeholders
  • Accurately forecast and effectively manage trade spend to achieve sales target within trade budget
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Travel to customers amp; attend trade shows as needed

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of strategic account management experience working with corporate category managers/buyers at key/strategic accounts within the grocery channel
  • Must have a proven track record managing key retailers including Kroger + northeastern retailers (Ahold, Wakefern, Wegmans)
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or business preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Business amp; results driven strategic thinker
  • Consultative selling, negotiation and presentation skills are critical
  • High level of experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook is required
