The Labor Development Manager identifies the strengths and opportunities of the individual, works with them to develop a better understanding of what we do and how the individual can become a better employee and capable of knowing which crew is the best placement for the individual.

. Follow up, communication, and attention to detail are critical for success in this position.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of labor management experience
  • Bilingual English and Spanish candidates are highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Manage field teams/crews' labor placement, and address any manpower needs for all job sites.
  • Communicate with field management and upper management regarding job site labor requirements, labor placement, and foreman placement.
  • Manage personnel assigned to light duty.
  • Interview and evaluate potential new hires for InProduction labor teams.
  • Monitor labor force performance for promotion opportunities and new hires' success.
  • Perform new hire orientation for new labor team members.
  • Work collaboratively with Leads amp; Foreman to address performance concerns such as absenteeism, policy violation, and behavioral concerns.
  • Listening to grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures.
  • Complete and submit incident, Field Reports (disciplinary, attendance, poor performance).
  • Coordinate transportation and lodging logistics for newly hired field employees.
  • Support interactions between payroll department and field labor teams.
  • Monitor temporary labor time sheets for excessive or inaccurate charges.
  • Design and implement employee retention strategies.
  • Travel to job sites
  • Attending all required meetings.
  • Follow up with employees to establish an open line of communication and to ensure that the current placement is what is best for the employee and the company
  • Communicates with team members' regarding schedules, vacation requests, and overtime.
  • Manages the rotation of employee schedules to develop a stronger work-life balance for InProduction employees.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to conditions that include weather such as heat and or humidity and cold, exposure to dust, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can often be loud.

The Labor Manager is regularly required to:

  • Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand.
  • Talk and listen at normal levels.
  • See with close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines.
  • Lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
