DefinedTalent is proud to support a group that provides a free volunteer management service for small, local charities that serves as a simple way for local volunteers to sign up to volunteer. Through the application, volunteers can discover new opportunities within their community to give back and get involved and charities can rest easy knowing that volunteer recruitment is happening on an ongoing basis without being a constant drain on their budget. This organization is hyper focused on taking individual neighborhoods and small cities, putting all of their local charities on the map, and turning small pockets of America into volunteer supercenters.

As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and nurturing relevant business partners in local networks to prospect new business through lead generation, follow-up, and cold calling. Your goal will be to grow revenue for the organization by selling advertisements and features in the monthly newsletter, building paid partnerships with local universities, organizations, and city entities, and selling sponsorship opportunities for local events. Because this organization is still in a start-up phase, they need someone who is resourceful, organized, inventive, motivated, patient, and willing to work in the gray. This is an exciting opportunity to help build an organization that is directly impacting small communities throughout New Jersey. This is a part-time role with about 10-15 hours a week.

Responsibilities:
  • Strong understanding of the potential clients and partners that would be attracted to their software and mission
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical growth plans.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to potential customers through various channels, including phone calls, emails, and social media, with the goal of generating interest and scheduling qualified meetings
  • Enter, update, and maintain information on leads, prospects, and opportunities
  • Maintain an enthusiastic representation of the company's mission and impact on the community
  • Ability to generate new sales leads and build new relationships.
  • Drive revenue growth by developing, closing and scaling a pipeline of successful advertiser and sponsorship accounts

Requirements

  • At least 1-3 years of sales or business development experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
  • Must have excellent creative thinking skills, excellent interpersonal and customer interaction skills, including ability to network effectively and build confidence with potential clients.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of exceeding targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience in a start-up or high growth organization is a bonus, but not required
  • Experience with marketing and sales systems like HubSpot or Salesforce is a bonus, but not required

The hourly range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour.

Final rate is competitive and commensurate with experience.
