Position: Specialty Billing Claims Specialist Location: Phoenix AZ Employment Type: Part-time
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze specialty billing A/R and A/P accounts
- Follow up on claims, performing necessary research, and initiating appropriate actions to resolve claim issues and secure reimbursement.
- Collaborate with billing and coding teams.
- Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to gather additional information, clarify claim details, and resolve claim-related inquiries.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation of claim activities, including correspondence, notes, and related documents.
- Identify trends or patterns in claim denials and propose process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including HIPAA and other industry-specific guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred) in a relevant field.
- Previous experience as a Specialty Billing Claims Specialist or similar role in a healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of specialty billing procedures, including claim submission, coding, and reimbursement.
- Familiarity with medical billing software, electronic health records (EHR), and claims processing systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret complex billing and coding information.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of insurance regulations and guidelines related to specialty billing.
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification is a plus.
