Responsibilities
1. Prepares journals in line with the Responsibility Matrix.
To prepare journals in line with the responsibility matrix, you should start by obtaining and reviewing source documentation. Once you have done that, you can move on to posting the journal entries. This way, you can ensure that everything is being recorded accurately and in accordance with the established protocols.
2. Reconciles Bank, AR, AP, Credit Cards, Accruals, and Prepayments for all entities.
As a ledger accountant, you will need to reconcile bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit cards, accruals, and prepayments for all entities. To do so, you should obtain and review source documentation carefully. Additionally, make sure to reconcile SAGE with Nexus on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and consistency. By following these steps, you can ensure that all financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
3. Completes timely month-end tasks for all entities as per the Business Transactions Closing Schedule.
You should make sure to maintain a closing schedule and checklist to ensure that all month-end tasks are completed on time for every entity. As the ledger accountant, it is your responsibility to escalate any unresolved issues promptly.
