The Transition Resource Action Center (TRAC) is a non-profit committed to supporting and empowering foster youth during their transition into adulthood. TRAC’s mission is to connect young people, aged 14-24, who are transitioning from foster care toward self-sufficiency, with individualized support, planning, and access to community services. Since 2003, TRAC has provided a one-stop support center in Dallas and Ft. Worth for transitional living services for youth exiting foster and juvenile care in North Texas. TRAC is the only transition center serving the 19 county North Texas Region 3 of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services that comprehensively addresses this population's needs. TRAC provides seamless, wrap-around, and transitional support services necessary for these youth to develop into self-sufficient young adults.
The TRAC Grant Manager/Development Associate’s primary responsibilities are to write compelling grant applications to current and prospective institutions. The Grant Writer/Manager will study and understand the history structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of TRAC and to research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies such as private and corporate foundations.
The Grant Manager/Development Associate will match internal program needs to funding opportunities, writing detailed letters of inquiry, pre-applications and/or full grant applications, creating/updating and providing detailed financial documents, and responding to grantor follow-up questions. The grant writer will utilize and add to a boiler plate of commonly requested information. The Grant Writer/manager will upload existing foundation grant contracts into a CRM system and will maintain the system, ensuring timely grant deliverables and meeting grant deadlines.
TRAC’s Grant Manager/Development Associate will acknowledge gifts and provide necessary IRS/donation data, tracking grant expenditures to match grant objectives for reports, providing updates on program progress and submitting annual reports and other requested reports to funders, leadership staff and board members.
The Grant Manager/Development Associate will be available to meet with funders/donors as needed, establishing trusting relationships. The duties also include preparing materials for, distributing and tracking donations on North Texas Giving Day, year-end campaign appeals assisting with fundraiser events and other duties as needed.
TRAC’s grant writer/manager will report to the Executive Director and will work in close collaboration with the board members currently responsible for grant writing during the onboarding period.
This is a Dallas-based position at the TRAC office in the Wilson Historic District. Remote workdays are negotiable.
Compensation is competitive with current market rates and commensurate with experience.
Minimum 20 hours / week up to full-time employment.
