Job Description

At Encore, we've rebranded our HR department to "Talent, Culture, amp; People, to emphasize our commitment in these areas. We are looking for a dynamic HR Business Partner who is going to help us fulfill our mission of passionately delivering a unique experience to the people who depend on us to make their lives safer and easier, and live up to our name.

Encore is a private-equity backed, full-service fire protection company. Over the past year we have doubled in size, and expanded our reach with offices in multiple new states. This has created opportunity as it relates to adequately supporting the day-to-day needs of our teammates, creating more scalable processes, and ensuring multi-state compliance.

Expect to be hands-on from the start, taking on tasks that you may have previously outsourced. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Finalizing the implementation of our new HRIS, including fine-tuning settings, checking personnel records, and managing large imports/exports
  • Observing, evaluating, and optimizing HR-related workflows such as onboarding, off-boarding, and leave management.
  • Project managing HR-related integration of newly acquired partner teams, which involves handbook and policy comparisons and benefit transitions.
  • Assisting executives and managers with employee matters, including performance improvement plans, severance agreements, and HR-related inquiries
  • Collaborating with VP to implement a ticketing system to manage daily inquiries and requests.

  • In addition to these immediate responsibilities, you'll also work on traditional HR-related initiatives:

  • On-going evaluation and updating policies that align with company goals and legal requirements as we expand into new state(s)
  • Establish our library of Job Descriptions with role requirements, measurable KPI’s, and consistent compensation and bonus plans.
  • Developing an industry-leading apprenticeship program that encourages people to get into the trades.
  • Ensure compliance with EEO and any or all diversity and inclusion laws.
  • Introduction of a 9-box performance management system
  • Requirements

To really excel in this position, there are a few non-negotiable requirements:

    • Work ethic and a "can-do" attitude. This is honestly the most important thing you can bring to the table so be prepared to give us a few examples of times you went above and beyond to achieve your goals.
    • You will be working with our team’s top-level executives. 5+ years of professional experience in business or HR-related field is a must.
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, HRCI) is a plus
    • Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply HR data to drive strategic decision making
    • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Above average proficiency with technology. Walking in the door, you have to know the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel above all others) beyond that, we need someone with verifiable ability to self-teach other new and emerging platforms.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively resolve employee issues and communicate with all levels of the organization.

    Benefits

As a company, Encore is hyper-focused on developing a culture that thrives on success and is energized by the fact that we get to make peoples' lives better and safer each day. One of the ways we do this is by generously rewarding all those who contribute to our continued growth. But we also believe that not all rewards are monetary. Here are just a few a few perks that a successful individual in this role can expect:

    • Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role.
    • Purpose and results driven work environment (work smarter not harder)
    • We dress for the objective which means most days we wear jeans but occasionally we wear suits. As long as you know which situations require which (or aren't afraid to ask), you'll be all set!
    • Speaking of attire, we offer all employees Encore gear when they join the team.
    • Snacks and coffee every day and weekly "to-order" office lunches and breakfast
    • Freedom to express ideas - a culture of willingness to test, try, modify, adopt, enhance, improve and CHANGE as needed.
    • Access to leading edge web-based productivity tools
    • Participation in Fidelity 401(K) that includes employer match.
    • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits through Blue Cross
    • Company sponsored benefits include Short-Term and Long-Te
