Our Accounting team is growing, and we are looking to add a Senior Property Accountant! This role will require a high degree of collaboration both as a member of a team, and cross-functionally. The Senior Property Accountant will work closely with Lease Compliance, Construction / Development, Property Maintenance, Finance, Leasing, Legal and Tenant Coordination. Relationship building, coupled with a strong work ethic, will be key components to success.
What You’ll Do
The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for a portfolio of properties including a more complicated staffed property that will be reviewed by a Manager. This role will also issue less complicated properties monthly/quarterly without a Manager’s review. The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for the monthly preparation of financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, variance analyses, property/tenant statistics and general ledger reconciliations. He/She will also be responsible for reviewing the work of less experienced Property Accountants as well as providing training on portfolios that are smaller and less complicated.
Specifically, this work will include but will not be limited to the following:
- Monthly general ledger maintenance (GAAP amp; Tax basis)
- Tenant billings (utilities, percentage rent, CAM, and RET)
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Financial statement preparation
- REIT testing
- Cash management
- Assistance in the annual audit
- Oversight of tax return preparation

We are looking for someone who is detail oriented but can also conceptualize the big picture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 5+ years of general ledger / financial statement preparation in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of MRI, Avidxchange and Anaplan is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and verbal and written communication skills
- CPA is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality work.
- The ideal candidate will be able to quickly learn and master various software
