The Applications Engineer is responsible for creating the projected time frame needed to complete a project, including the consideration of labor needs, materials, budgets, and potential setbacks. This role’s duties include communicating with personnel and contractual professionals or vendors, weighing production risks, compiling reports, and presenting findings to project leaders.
- Analyze requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
- Determine what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
- Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
- Create labor estimates for any project
- Create and control all proposals for customers
- Track proposals in the company CRM
- Analyze data from the sales pipeline to aid in sales forecasting
- Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors
- Use bid data to prepare detailed a cost analysis
- Present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
- Compile and record actual costs
Requirements
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents
- Report writing and strategic planning skills
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional time management skills
