Role Summary:

Iontra is commercializing breakthrough technology that dramatically improves the performance of existing commercial batteries. We are looking for a Director of Analytics/Process Engineer to join the team to develop and lead the Analytics team and related competencies (analytical battery electrochemistry, battery test plan development, data processing, data analysis and reporting), support deployment of Iontra charging algorithms and battery cycling platforms, help product OEMs and cell manufacturers to characterize and optimize battery performance and demonstrate product quality, reliability, and durability using Iontra’s charging technology.

For each battery-powered product, Iontra develops the charging protocol and generates a statistical sample size of battery performance data to demonstrate the acceptable end-of-life performance within given constraints and statistical tolerances. Iontra is interested in developing and introducing capabilities found in the semiconductor space to set the standard to deliver the highest quality battery performance quality, reliability, and durability. This role will require on-site presence at our two facilities in Denver, CO and Centennial, CO; and offers the ability to work from home as needed.

The analytics group at Iontra has the following ongoing responsibilities to provide final charge protocols that deliver production quality, and repeatable performance to its customers:

  • Create battery cycling plans with constraints, tolerances, and performance targets.
  • Initiate and monitor battery cycling activities.
  • Interim performance analysis and reporting
  • Deliver final performance analytical findings and recommendation reports.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Become the data and analytical center of excellence at Iontra and for the industry.
  • Develop analytical and mathematical frameworks and benchmarks to quickly understand the relationships among and between all parameters used in Iontra charging with various battery cell chemistries and formats.
  • Lead, monitor, and prepare reports for all Ramp;D activities associated with design, development, testing, and deployment of charge protocol and other analytics associated with battery chemistries, including electrical and mechanical parametrics.
  • Strategize, develop, and perform customer and internal Design of Experiments (DoE) tests for internal and external customers, evaluate all designs and output against the key performance criteria and test constraints.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of work products and processes.
  • Collaborate with Ramp;D, HW and SW engineering, Integration and Test, and Operations, DevOps, Data Science Engineering, and the Marketing and Sales teams, among others, and make recommendations to ensure Iontra’s hardware, software, and data pipeline capabilities have the required robustness and reliability.
  • Analyze and resolve issues, including cross-functional issues, respond to queries, provide product training, and ensure completion within available timeframes.
  • Proactively analyze data, highlight issues, prepare root cause analysis and recommendations to share internally and in support of customer and supplier discussions as needed.
