With a commitment to excellence and innovation, Martin Management Group is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Controller to join our team. As a Corporate Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient cash management, accurate financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will:
- Oversee corporate staff in accounting, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Direct day-to-day corporate accounting functions, including cash management, payroll, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, floor plan payable, corporate accounts payable, and 401K retirement fund management.
- Oversee all Martin bank accounts, making transfers, wires, and ensuring daily balances are maintained.
- Partner with corporate payroll for seamless processing and accuracy of payroll records.
- Review financial statements prepared by corporate accountant, including journal entries, account analysis, and month-end closings for entities housed at the corporate office.
- Review and maintain dealership financial statements.
- Prepare monthly analysis charts for dealerships for the monthly managers meeting.
- Oversee cash flow management and financial planning and provide financial analysis.
- Maintain various accounting and finance third-party platforms such as Yooz, FrogData, expense management program for accurate and efficient financial operations.
- Support annual corporate tax filings by assisting the CPA with federal, state, and local tax returns for corporate entities.
- Work closely with Human Resources on critical matters such as Open Enrollment, Government Reporting, and related initiatives.
- Collaborate with the CFO, Vice Presidents of Accounting, and Controllers and other members of the Management Team to develop and present reports for enhanced business analysis.
- Complete any other tasks or projects as assigned by President or CFO.
- Follow policies and procedures as set forth in Personnel Policy Manual.
- Develop and maintain an effective cash management system to forecast cash funds and advise on profitable utilization of excess cash.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred.
- Five or more years of corporate accounting experience.
- Proficiency in generating financial statements, managing general ledger functions, and executing month-end/year-end closing processes
- Experience with a DMS such as Dealertrack, CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds a plus
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
- Experience in managing payroll, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes.
- Exemplary history of financial project management.
