Position Summary

DroneUp is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The position is key to ensuring intercompany transactions are complete and accurate. The Senior Accountant will oversee and maintain all properties of DroneUp equipment and perform asset accounting for all leased equipment. In addition, this position will assist in the month-end close process to ensure financial statements are delivered in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will champion the importance of details and processes as well as suggest improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Prepare journal entries to support month-end close activities
  • Assist with inter-company billing, and confirmations between the parent company and its subsidiaries
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations for monthly close, and autonomously work to resolve any discrepancies
  • Research and analyze Pamp;L budget to actual variances and analyze Pamp;L trends
  • Maintain fixed assets ledger to include additions, disposals, and transfers of fixed assets
  • Calculate depreciation and post entries monthly
  • Maintain Operating and Finance lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842.
  • Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings
  • Provide support for the annual budget process
  • Assist with year-end audits and other annual reporting requirements
  • Maintain proper storage of receipts, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing
  • Maintain prepaid accounts and post the monthly prepaid expense.
  • Prepare monthly allocations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required, CPA strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of general accounting experience required
  • Strong Excel skills (sumifs/pivot tables) strongly preferred
  • Must be a self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Must be detail-oriented, have solid organizational skills, and have strong follow-through
