About the Role:
Our Senior Graphic Designer will be expected to provide creative direction on packaging, point of purchase displays, marketing collateral and online content creation for the ION Audio brand. We are seeking a candidate that has proven technical expertise and knowledge in the following areas:
- Retail Packaging Design, Compliance amp; Sustainability
- Content Creation: Photography, Graphic Design, and Copywriting
- Branding: Development and maintenance of the ION identity
- Management: function as ION’s point of contact for creative and serve as a mentor to junior designers
The successful candidate will work closely with the ION’s management team to create packaging and marketing materials that align with the ION brand and that will stand out in a mass market environment. In addition, the candidate must have a good understanding about the importance of branding, consumer behavior, retail packaging and packaging sustainability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Lead packaging design projects from concept to production, and mentor and provide guidance to junior design team members.
- Branding: Developing and maintaining the brand identity (logo, imagery used, iconography) and ensuring that it is used consistently across packaging, in-store marketing assets, online content, customer presentations, and social media.
- Conceptualization and Design: Develop creative packaging concepts that align with brand guidelines and project requirements while simultaneously creating visually compelling design solutions that enhance customer experience and product value.
- Material and Process Selection: Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes ensuring packaging functionality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes and conduct physical tests for design verification, ensuring that packaging protects the product and withstands various stress conditions during shipping and handling.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with product development, quality assurance, marketing, digital services, and supply chain teams.
- Coordination: Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure design feasibility and integrity.
- Sustainability: Implement sustainable practices and materials in packaging designs and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and certifications.
- Compliance and Legal: Work with inMusic’s legal resources to ensure packaging compliance with all legal and regulatory guidelines both locally and internationally.
- Consumer Insights: Apply understanding of consumer behavior and trends to design packaging that appeals to the target audience.
- Quality Assurance: Review pre-production samples and provide approval for production runs.
- Project Management: Manage timelines and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Website Management: In partnership with digital services, ensure our brand website is maintained and the latest models are well represented on our website to provide an excellent customer experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in graphic design, industrial design, or related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modeling tools.
- Creative Ability: Strong visual, creative, and practical problem-solving skills.
- Material Knowledge: In-depth understanding of various packaging materials and manufacturing processes.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
