Job Description

Right At School provides safe, engaging, and meaningful in-school and extracurricular programs to enrich the lives of students, give parents peace of mind, and enable schools to focus on their academic mission. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing marketing and product team focused on expanding Right At School’s presence in school districts that are using district, state or federal funds to provide out-of-school-time enrichment to their communities. With the support of our amazing team, we’ve grown at an exciting rate, now serving over 50,000 kiddos across the country!

About the Role:

We’re looking for an energetic and creative Product Director to join Right At School’s growing marketing and product organization, helping to increase the value proposition of our out-of-school-time programs to district-funded communities. This role is a combination of strategy and execution - you will serve as a partner and advocate for school district leaders looking to provide impactful academic and social enrichment to elementary-aged students. You will own the Pamp;L for district-paid solutions, develop a roadmap which differentiates from our parent-paid solutions, and work with our curriculum, partnership, and operations teams to drive adoption and profitability in this growing market segment. This is a great opportunity to join an organization with an amazing mission and help build focused product strategies to deliver Right At School’s programs to more kiddos than ever!

As the Director of Product Management, you will:

  • Own and manage the Pamp;L for RAS’ district-paid after school programs.
  • Develop long-term product and pricing strategies focused on increasing school district retention and customer lifetime value.
  • Create and maintain the product roadmap for district-paid programs, focused on tightening our alignment with school district expectations for academic, social-emotional, and out-of-school-time impact to students.
  • Institutionalize a reporting and outcomes-based data framework and process to comply with publicly-funded programs such as ASIS and ELOP.
  • Drive the development of new program features or models to deliver unique value propositions to school district superintendents, school boards, school administrators, and funding managers with a focus on creating differentiated program components as compared to our parent-paid model.
  • Collaborate with our Impact team to develop new and enhanced program curriculum and experiences that help our students grow academically and socially, while delighting our families. Furthermore, partner to develop meta and longitudinal research on the efficacy of our programs in government-funded environments.
  • Launch a product innovation initiative to identify, pilot, and roll-out new program components or features that help Right At School stay in lock-step with, and ahead of, national momentum in the district-paid after school market.
  • Collaborate with Field Operations to create a unique and differentiated program delivery model to meet the high expectations of our district-paid stakeholders while maintaining a focus on efficiencies in program operations, hiring, staffing, labor management, and training.
  • Collaborate with Partner Success to develop plans to drive more district-paid utilization of RAS’ ancillary programs such as Summer Camp and Electives.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge base and understanding of Federal and State funding initiatives and lobbying efforts for out-of-school-time enrichment.

Requirements

What We’d Like You to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in either a business-related field or education.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a product management role or equivalent experience managing a Pamp;L, product roadmap(s), and go-to-market strategies. Education industry is a plus.
  • Experience in product or service markets with regulatory frameworks and reporting requirements. Publicly-funded education or federal government markets are a plus.
  • Experience working in cross-functional product organizations, specifically with teams responsible for developing the product feature-set, creating user stories, and delivering on functional requirements (i.e. curriculum, engineering, etc.).
  • Experience collaborating ‘up and across’ an organization, specifically to gain buy-in for new initiatives and ensure key stakeholders are given the opportunity to participate in the product process.
  • Passion for education and supporting public school communities is a must!
  • Strong communication skills - written and oral.
