Project Managers are expected to manage new and ongoing projects from beginning to delivery and be integral to expanding Valkyrie’s business and technology capabilities. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work with traders, quants and software developers in a highly collaborative environment to improve Valkyrie’s complex, ever-evolving algorithmic infrastructure. Below are additional responsibilities:
- Motivates and leads department teams to deliver efficient and effective projects - Assists in creating and maintaining project plans, objectivity, and ongoing analysis and documentation of projects - Facilitate standup, planning, and retrospective meetings- Report on project progress and risks to the executive team- Monitor all project deliverables and deadlines and ensure expectations are met- Confirms projects are progressing proficiently and that any roadblocks are identified and addressed promptly- Incorporates time management principles into the workflow- Integrates appropriate project management tools and processes and drives continuous improvement initiatives- Conveys information to all key stakeholders and determines the appropriate communication channels - Collaborates with traders, quants, and technology teams to understand their requirements, identify dependencies, and mitigate risks- Delegates responsibilities appropriately when neededWhat You'll Need:
- 4+ years of project management experience leading technical projects, including development and execution
- Strong initiative; proven track record of taking ownership of a project’s full life cycle through successful completion
- 3+ years working in trading/financial services recommended (preferably in the proprietary trading industry)
- Familiarity with electronic trading exchanges and or understanding of industry trends and their impact on business
- Previous experience working with software systems, networking technology, hardware, etc
- Experience leading team meetings, assigning action items and tasks, and managing overall project tracking
- Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and work on a collaborative team
- Entrepreneurial attitude with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and responsibilities
- Excellent organizational skills; strong attention to detail
- Previous experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Bachelor's degree required
