About the Role:
OurHuman Resources (HR) Coordinatorplays a vital role in managing personnel functions consistent with company policies and legal requirements. We're seeking a qualified individual with at least 2 years of progressive HR experience, strong communication skills, and expertise in areas like organization development, compensation, benefits, employment, and labor relations. The role thrives in a high volume and fast-paced environment.
Job Duties and Skills:
- Expertise in HR functional areas, including employee relations and familiarity with federal and state labor laws.
- Expertise in HRIS systems administration and reporting experience, preferably in healthcare or ABA.
- Collaborates with COO in reviewing, developing, revising, and executing human resource policies, procedures, manuals and forms applicable to the industry.
- Liaises with Coyne employees on a daily basis to appropriately support and manage all HR related situations.
- Manages leaves of absence (LOA) according to CA labor law practices (FMLA, CFRA etc.) and maintains accurate LOA reports.
- Experience working with HIPAA regulations and understands privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Follows all policies and procedures related to Worker’s Compensation claims and reporting timelines; communicates with the COO and legal counsel as needed to appropriately manage claims.
- Collaborates with the COO to update and maintain the Employee Handbook as needed
- Manages all employee onboarding, change requests and terminations according to CA labor law practices.
- Supports the Regional Directors in managing HR related responsibilities.
- Conducts research, collects and analyzes data to prepare reports and documents.
- Reviews administrative operating procedures and suggests improvements where necessary including personnel file audit annually or as needed.
- Maintains employee information in Company database systems (e.g., Paylocity, CentralReach, Workable).
- Prepares documents for monthly All-Staff meetings and attends meetings to liaise with employees
- Manages secure storage facility and completes annual secure document destruction.
- Performs other tasks and projects that may be assigned from time to time by a supervisor that are in keeping with general HR duties.
Schedule:Hybrid (90% Remote / 10% Onsite as needed) at the Company’s Main Office (Currently in Mission Valley, San Diego).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of progressive HR experience; PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as Google Workspace, Paylocity, Docu-sign, and Central Reach.
- Extensive Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations.
- Must have excellent public relations skills to interact with clients, legal council and employee base.
- Demonstrates excellent leadership skills and professional conduct.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be insurable by the Company insurance as demonstrated by a current Motor Vehicle Report, have a current valid California driver’s license and valid car insurance in effect in the individual’s name. These records may be subject to review by insurance representatives.
- Must submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and FBI to demonstrate clearance for work with children in public school settings/government contracts.
- Is familiar with and performs duties following HIPAA regulations.
- Performs duties following all laws and regulations regarding rights and practices in areas of equal opportunity, hiring, discrimination, and harassment. Training and certification will be required and assigned as needed.
- Completes annual health and safety training and adheres to all policies and procedures, including safety policies and procedures.
- Must be available to respond to and address personnel and other matters as they arise from time to time in the Region or as otherwise assigned.
- Maintains good attendance records and punctuality.

Salary: $27.00 - $34.00 per hour
