About the role:

The Accounts Receivable amp; Credit Specialist is part of inMusic's Finance Department and reports directly to the Credit Manager. This role is responsible for reviewing all credit and accounts receivable activity and deductions from our customers, assessing potential customers' creditworthiness to optimize the mix of company sales and bad debt losses, credit-releasing new orders under review, and collections of overdue items. Additionally, this role reviews smaller dealer accounts for ad hoc research under the Credit Manager's direction, along with any other reporting or research for their assigned accounts. This role requires a strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.

What our AR amp; Credit Specialist will do:

  • Identify, research and code incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, reviewing all accounts in your portfolio, and process credits for approved allowances deducted from payments
  • Reconcile customer accounts by performing research on customer payments, with the end result being resolution of customer and company billing issues and disputes
  • Review orders requesting credit releasing, limiting risk on past due accounts, or accounts over the credit limit
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders, contacting clients, and negotiating payment plans if necessary
  • Generate monthly statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status for customers and management upon request
  • Review Retail account agreements with Sales Management

Requirements

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years of proven working experience in accounts receivable, ideally in a retail or distribution environment
  • Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records with attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables, vlookups) preferred
  • Experience using an ERP System such as SAP, JD Edwards, or similar desired
