About the Position:

The Senior Commercial Finance Analyst will assist in financial oversight, analysis and management related to all of Onnit’s sales channels (.COM, AMZ, Retail). This role will assist in the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful performance analysis of Onnit’s month end financial and budgeting/forecasting, demand planning, as well as ad-hoc analysis as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the Sales and Marketing annual planning and forecasting processes owning expense forecasting by vendor and analyzing potential returns
  • Actively monitor channel performance against AOP/Forecasts and proactively highlight risks and opportunities
  • Help measure ROI in key investment areas such as performance marketing and retail trade analysis
  • Update and monitor financial/KPI reporting for Sales and Marketing groups to assist with strategic decision making and budget tracking
  • Analyze past and present trends to assess profitability and return of eCommerce Marketing tactics and campaigns
  • Help with profitability analysis of eCommerce promotional and discounting activities and events
  • Partner with Business Intelligence team to build out and improve eCommerce and Retail reports
  • Partner with Accounting team on month-end close including revenue recognition, Retail trade drivers, and Marketing vendor spend
  • Assist with commentary for weekly/monthly presentations and analytical material presented to senior and executive management
  • Assist in preparation of materials for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with Demand Plan for eCommerce (.COM, AMZ) channel using a bottoms up marketing metrics methodology
  • Assist broader FPamp;A team with ad-hoc analysis such as AOP preparation, channel/customer Pamp;L builds, headcount reporting, and vendor spend analysis
  • Assist with consolidation of monthly Gross Sales and Trade forecasts calling out large outliers and exclusions
  • Partner with Product Development team to assist with new products including margin analysis, sales channel analysis, and competitive analysis
  • Partner with S+OP team on Retail trade forecasting and actuals reporting
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to set, manage, and optimize pricing across channels
  • Assist in improving Executive Team and key internal stakeholders’ understanding of financial statements and budget adherence with thoughtful and transparent analysis and partnership
  • Help institutionalize finance discipline, fact-based decision-making, and financial visibility throughout the Company

Requirements

  • BS / BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MBA / MS / MA is a plus
  • 2-4 years of overall experience in finance and accounting
  • 2+ years of Finance experience in a high growth company in CPG, branded consumer, or retail
  • Experience and understanding of eCommerce Marketing Metrics
  • Experience forecasting eCommerce sales (.COM and Amazon)
  • Experience and understanding of Retail Trade Spend
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs and planning tools (e.g. Anaplan, Hyperion Essbase, etc.)
  • Financial modelling skills coupled with compelling storytelling prowess
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to identify problems and suggest solutions
  • Seamlessly capable of working and communicating with all levels of the organization, including Executive Team and broader Management, and other key internal and external business partners
  • A growth mindset backed up by a track record of leveraging past learnings, encouraging new ideas, and smart risk taking in self and others
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to build cross functional partnerships to make effective decisions collaboratively
  • Executive presence with ability to compel and inspire internal and external audiences
