POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Project Accountant to join their dedicated accounting team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Setup/Maintenance: Execute the opening of new projects according to project standards; setup phases according to project scope and phase standards; update billing terms according to contracts/amendments; update project phasing per changes in scope/contract; and update project budgets according to project plans. Work with PM’s to develop project plans/budgets based on the Project Phase Structure. Monitor, research and resolve any project WIP issues with project managers and accounting team. Respond to any inquiries from client regarding any project issues.
  • Project Billing: Execute the monthly invoicing process in accordance with the billing cycle and as required by project contracts; work with project managers/AP to code consultant invoices/credit card charges/employee expense reports/petty cash receipts as necessary; collect invoice backup as required by contract to submit with client invoice; submit invoices to clients per contract schedule; and research/resolve any billing inquiries/issues. Monitor, research and resolve any billing inquiries/issues from PM’s and external clients.
  • Project Performance Reporting:Prepare project performance reports and hold monthly meetings with project managers to report budget tracking, labor and expense detail, project performance, and risks and issues. Monitor and resolve any project inquiries by researching any project inquiries.
  • Accounts Receivable: Execute the accounts receivable process to maintain positive project cashflow. Monitor and resolve any issues with accounts receivable. Work with PM’s/Accounting Team to communicate effectively with clients in order to collect outstanding AR.
  • Project Closing: Execute the project closing process including assisting project managers with closeout documents (notice of substantial completion, lien waivers, final consultant invoices, final client invoices); respond to any inquiries from client regarding any final project issues; review project financials to reconcile WIP; create final project performance reports; and de-activate project/phases.
  • Other general accounting duties/tasks as requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE amp; EDUCATION

  • Accounting Degree or equivalent work-related experience
  • 3 or more years of increasing experience in accrual-based accounting
  • 1 or more years of accounting experience in the A/E/C industry
  • Experience with Deltek Vision system management and reporting a plus

BENEFITS

At the time of posting this job, the hiring range for this position in Seattle is between $70,000 and $80,000 annually. Final salary decisions are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate’s education and experience and considering internal equity and external market factors
