Detroit Labs OnSite Business Unit is looking for an experienced Angular Developer to join an exciting project with an existing client that drives game-changing automotive technology. This role will work on in-vehicle web services for customers with connected capabilities across the USA and Canada. These systems consist of several backend, frontend, and middleware applications. As a full-time member of our OnSite Business Unit team, we prioritize your individual career growth by providing optional check-in support, a yearly retro, and access to a variety of learning resources to ensure you are always growing and working towards your goals.

This is a full-time salaried hybrid role located in Auburn Hills, MI. You must be able to work in the office a minimum of 2 days a week.

Requirements

  • 8+ years professional experience developing in Frontend software engineering (must have industry experience to be considered)
  • 4+ years of experience working with Angular (must have experience with Angular 9 and above)
  • In-depth understanding of HTML 5.0 design principles and the ability to translate design mockups into responsive and visually appealing user interfaces
  • Experience working with Node.js 6+
  • Experience creating, modifying, and maintaining angular.json and package.json files
  • Experience consuming data APIs, implementing networking concepts, including authentication
  • Experience creating and maintaining npm packages
  • Experience in Linux operations specifically with bash/zsh, including navigating file structures, performing zipping/unzipping tasks, and configuring SSL certificates for secure communication
  • Experience in security of data on devices and in transit, and in-depth understanding of security related concepts/concerns in web applications
  • Experience estimating new software features with the information provided at the time of the request, and the ability to independently plan and accomplish tasks with proper time management
  • Experience with developing and deploying to cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid model in Auburn Hills up to 2 days per week
  • Detroit Labs is not currently able to hire candidates who will reside outside of the United States during their term of employment.


Responsibilities
  • Work with other engineers, developers, architects, QA, project managers and stakeholders in solving client technical challenges
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business units in an Agile Scrum environment
  • Understand requirements, implement solutions, provide administration tools and documentation for specific projects
  • Promote improvements in programming practices such as functional/acceptance test-driven development, continuous integration, and test automation
  • Utilize your expertise in HTML 5.0 design principles to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces that align with our brand and user expectations
  • Serve as a Linux expert, proficient in navigating file locations, performing zipping/unzipping operations, and configuring certificates for secure communication
  • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers to elevate the overall skillset of the team
