Job Description

Who We Are

OnYourMark is an early literacy tutoring service providing virtual individualized instruction in the foundations of early literacy to elementary students grounded in the science of reading. We partner with schools as a supplement to the literacy instruction already in place to ensure students get the foundational reading skills they need to excel!

Why We Exist

OnYourMark exists to ensure that the students we serve learn to read by 3rd grade or get additional support beyond. We believe that access to high quality foundational skills reading instruction is an equity issue. We also believe that spreading an understanding of the science of how children learn to read can be transformative for tutors, teachers, children, and families. Getting foundational literacy skills right in K-2 will support children to read on grade level and diminish the need for schools to remediate at their current levels. Our goal is that all kids are ready for the shift from learning to read to reading to learn in 3rd grade or have supports to gain these foundational skills in 3rd grade and beyond

Why Apply

When you join the OnYourMark coaching team, you commit to supporting tutors to teach students to become lifelong readers with the foundational reading skills to tackle future school and life challenges and adventures. Becoming an OnYourMark coach is right for you if you believe in the power of science-based foundational skills reading instruction and enjoy coaching others to realize results for students.

Position Overview

Tutor Coaches are responsible for coaching and developing OnYourMark tutors through 30 minute weekly one on one sessions. These coaching sessions use tutor video as a way to assess tutor skill and coach improvement over time. Coaches are the first point of contact in supporting tutors with meeting individual student needs, problem solving technology challenges, and interpreting the curriculum. Coaches also meet together several times during each 10 week session to learn from each other and grow their own abilities to transform tutor practice.
