Job Description

Returnmates is a fast-growing, Series A funded, LA-based technology and logistics startup that provides brands with a customer centric delivery and returns experience for their shoppers. Our mission is to make online shopping more enjoyable by creating a seamless post purchase experience. We combine technology and logistics to provide a white-glove service for consumers -- step by step delivery tracking, SMS customer support and boxless, printerless doorstep returns. If you want to join an innovative team that is tackling an area of ecommerce that has been left out to dry, this is the place for you.

The Role

Returnmates is seeking a Product Manager to play a key role in managing the development and execution of new product features for the business.

The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle, including: collecting and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with the engineering, sales, marketing, and support teams to ensure goals are met. The Product Manager is also responsible for overseeing the overall company’s strategy and objectives.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of Returnmates, reporting directly into the Co-Founder and CEO.

What You’ll Do:

As a PM at Returnmates you will work closely with the engineering team to assign and deliver solutions against the product roadmap. This includes leading the bi-weekly sprint planning, approving releases and scaled refinement. You will partner with the VP of Engineering who owns the agile process and is accountable for leading a team of approximately 12 to 20 engineers with distinct expertise in front end development, back end systems and quality assurance. You will work directly with engineers to agree on the final designs and testing.

In addition to the technology role, you will work for the CTO and engage with the functional department leaders to assure the design and criteria for delivery of new features, systems or active product corrections that meet the needs of business. You will collaborate with the CTO and the VP of Engineering to create a 12-18 month roadmap. You will be directly responsible for the delivery of the defined roadmap key functions on quarterly basis and to help manage and balance engineering work for committed new roadmap items versus required features, tech dept, architecture and issue resolutions.

Requirements

  • Experience as the product owner as a team member in an agile environment.
  • Experience and understanding of integration approaches to third party platforms providers, such as, RMS, WMS, OMS, TMS (Return, Warehouse, Transportation and Order Management Systems) and API providers for delivering discrete ecommerce services such as, addressing, tracking, rate shopping, label creation, tracking and manifesting.
