Hire Resolve's client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Geologist in Orlando FL.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement large field efforts related to environmental investigation including Preliminary Assessments, Site Inspections, and Remedial Investigations.
- Perform site visits, field observations, and field data collection related to RCRA, CERCLA, and state environmental cleanup programs.
- Coordinate and direct field staff performing sampling of groundwater, soil, and other environmental media
- Lead and direct the planning of environmental investigations and provide analysis and interpretation of data to identify data gaps and recommend changes to the investigative approach.
- Supervise subcontractors and field personnel performing geophysical surveys, direct push/drilling investigations, and implementation of environmental remediation.
- Prepare reports, tables, maps, drawings, and visual aids to evaluate, plan and obtain regulatory approval on project recommendations.
- Interface with federal, municipal, and private sector clients pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
- Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs
- Participate in the company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts
- Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attend professional workshops
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science (preferably Geology) or related science field.
- 4+ years’ experience performing environmental investigations and leading field efforts
- Valid driver’s license, ability to travel and obtain security clearance at federal installations.
- Knowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.).
- Ability to define and address problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to present to supervisors.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- This position can be physically demanding and will require work in various working environments/conditions which requires that an individual be physically capable of canvassing large project areas by foot on various terrain and potentially in inclement weather.
- Travel maybe required (up to 50%)
