Hire Resolve’s client is a leading Civil Engineering firm that urgently seeking the expertise of a Drainage Engineer in Orlando, FL.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subs, and staff plus maintain a high level of project standards and meeting or ideally exceeding client expectations
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software, including computer simulation models and Geographical Information System (GIS) software, and equipment to prepare engineering and design analysis and documents
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
- Preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, transportation impact analysis, and design for projects
- Calculate cost and determine feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data and applying knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics
- Complete planning and evaluation studies
- Independently resolve issues or problems concerning conflicting design requirements, specifications and/or difficult coordination requirements
- May conduct peer reviews and make technical presentations
- Perform constructability reviews of designs
- Perform quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings
- Assist in marketing efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline and 6+ years of drainage engineering experience on Transportation projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Licensed by the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer (PE) or another state and able to obtain Florida PE within six (6) months.
- Demonstrated knowledge in conventional aspects of transportation drainage facilities and the functional areas of the assignment
- Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
- Specific functional areas include, but are not limited to, the design of: open and closed conveyance systems, retention/detention facilities, cross drain hydraulics, hydraulic modeling, and floodplain evaluation
- Ability to perform site investigations, planning and evaluation studies, final design computations, specifications, and construction documents
