Job Description
Our client is looking for an Associate General Counsel in Raleigh, N.C. This is a hybrid role in the office Tuesday-Thursday. As an integral member of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, providing legal guidance, and supporting the company's strategic goals and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with heavily regulated industries.
Responsibilities include:
• Work with cross functional teams in Operations, Sales, Customer Solutions, Finance, Risk, HR, and Compliance, to support business objectives, customer needs, and assess and mitigate risks of new and existing business initiatives
• Serve as a subject matter expert on various regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines
• Conduct research and analysis of complex legal and regulatory issues, keeping abreast of industry developments, and communicating findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, regulatory filings, and other legal documents
• Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as required, representing the company's interests in regulatory proceedings, examinations, and audits
Required Qualifications:
• JD from an accredited law school; member in good standing of at least one state bar
• 5+ years legal experience in a law firm or in-house
• Experience with insurance regulatory and/or financial services regulatory issues, ideally in mortgage finance
