Job Description
Job Duties:
- Design, develop, test, and support native and hybrid mobile applications for our online test delivery platform.
- Develop and test new applications or contribute to the development of existing mobile applications in terms of new feature enhancements.
- Develop native UI (user interface) screens for current and future UWorld mobile products using native iOS/Android components or hybrid frameworks.
- Employ best practices for code sharing and development to ensure common code base abstraction across all applications.
- Consume REST and/or SOAP services to provide interactive experience for end users with real-time data.
- Use HTML5, CSS3, and/or various JavaScript frameworks for an enhanced user experience.
- Work with QA engineers to ensure quality and reliability of all apps by process of continuous improvement.
- Develop, modify, and test algorithms that can be employed in computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information.
- Develop and/or consume API calls to ensure all user specific interactive data is stored in the backend databases (SQL and NoSQL) using service calls and JSON objects.
- Provide mechanism for end users to search product-specific materials and show them in user interface for review.
- Display data received from service calls and provide end-users with ancillary features that help in data retrieving, searching, and filtering.
- Collaborate with other web developers, designers, and UX designers in building application prototypes.
- Create digital wireframes for new features in existing apps or to document requirements for new/future products.
- Work with a team of software developers to achieve quality and on-time releases.
- Collaborate with technical architects, product leads, QA team, and customer care team to drive new enhancements or fix bugs in a timely manner.
- Raise concerns with UX designers for any mobile OS specific limitations.
- Involved in discussions related to new app development or application prototype for future UWorld products.
- Ensure continuous product improvement via user feedback and platform-based research.
- Ensure consistent functionality across all modalities of client-server interaction.
- Continuously review other platform specific features to see if the same can be implemented in mobile platforms.
- Understand the cross-platform functionality support so all apps provide consistent user experience.
- Review app store feedback on a continuous basis to ensure early detection of user concerns as well as gauge product popularity and development direction.
- Learn from Sr. Software Developers on market research to provide cutting-edge features to users.
- Use of Java, Swift, IDEs, Mobile SDKs, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, JSON, InVision App, REST amp; SOAP Web Services, Oracle, PL/SQL, MySQL, and SQL Server.
Requirements
This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Plus 6 months of experience in the job offered or 6 months in a related occupation including Software Engineer or related experience.
Position requires 6 months of experience with design, development amp; testing, Java, and at least one of the following database tools/technologies: Oracle, SQL, MySQL, or SQL Server. 40hrs/week.
