Supplier Quality Audit Engineer

Location:North America (Toronto, Canada or Las Vegas, NV, USA)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supplier Quality Audit Engineer to join the team in North America. This role will formally qualify all new suppliers and products whilst supporting all supplier quality related escalations, ensuring the quality of materials meets or exceeds ADL specification and/or requirements at all times. This position reports to the Head of North American Procurement, based in Brampton, Ontario.

Your Dream Role

  • We’re need a Supplier Quality Audit Engineer to lead the qualification of all new ADL suppliers within a specific region and ensure periodic re-certification as required.
  • Evaluate and improve supplier quality management systems and procedures with new suppliers to ensure they consistently meet quality expectations.
  • Develop and implement a continuous supplier audit schedule in order to support the Group Procurement cost reduction objectives.
  • Set individual supplier quality improvement targets and manage performance to ensure they are met.
  • Lead crisis-management of all major supplier related in-service and in-factory quality incidents. Responding quickly to field or site escalation and implementing emergency supplier containment measures as required.
  • Lead all RCCA and continuous improvement activities with new and existing suppliers.
  • Ensure prevention of repeat defects through promotion and utilization of 8D methodology.
  • Assess and improve supplier process capability.
  • Develop and publish supplier performance reports and metrics via Qlikview.
  • Support and/or lead Supplier Industrializations and Supplier Development Programs

What you will bring:

  • Your exceptional Quality Audit/Engineering experience within the automotive industry will be essential for this role.
  • Strong Experience working with quality standards, ISO9001, TS16949 etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of supplier quality management systems and procedures SPC, RCCA, PPAP, 8D, 5S, 6-sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA etc.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • You’ll be technically minded with fantastic problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Relationship building will come easily to you - across all levels of seniority, internally and externally.
  • Exceptional communication and reporting skills with the ability to manage and lead others when assigned.
  • You’ll be proficient at reading engineering drawings/specifications.
  • Things can be hectic here. You will remain calm under pressure, be able to multi-task and deliver projects on time.
  • Ideally, you will hold a professional Engineering or Quality qualification or a relevant business degree.
  • Generally, someone who is approachable, with a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.
