Job Description
The Operations Payments Specialist II serves in a lead role and performs multiple tasks to support the daily transaction processing and servicing of customer deposit accounts including a wide range of operational processes to ensure compliance with bank procedures and regulatory requirements. These operational processes include but are not limited to the understanding and support of payment activity for ACH, Fedwire, and Debit Card payment transaction processing. This position will also play a key role in the development, implementation, and on-going support of RTP and Fed Now payment processing and control.
Essential Functions amp; Responsibilities:
- Have a strong understanding of ACH/NACHA rules to ensure regulatory compliance and perform all ACH-related processing tasks that include monitoring daily cash management ACH files submitted by customers, documenting out of Band verification, updating ACH log, processing ACH files, and other ACH tasks (i.e., processing NOCs, Returns, ACH Stops, etc.).
- Input/process outgoing and incoming wires (dual control) through Fedline Advantage and Bankers Bank.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and support daily and on-going RTP amp; Fed Now payment processing, account balancing, and fraud monitoring.
- Manage debit card activity and daily balancing of card activity and support customer card inquiries and disputes.
- Provide subject matter expertise and escalation point for customers and bank staff to support payments-related inquiries such as ACH, RTP amp; Fed Now payments, wires, debit cards, etc.
- Serve as backup for various department functions as needed.

Requirements
Experience
- 3+ years in the banking industry focused on deposit and payments operations.
- Customer service experience and general banking knowledge deposit products and services including digital banking is preferred.
- 2+ years of direct ACH experience (AAP (Accredited ACH Professional) highly desirable).
- Fedwire experience and knowledge of deposit payment processing.
Education
(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves extensive personal contact with others inside and outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a high degree of confidentiality and discretion requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills
Proficient computer skills including use of Microsoft Office applications and digital banking services.
Experience with general ledger control and account reconciliation.Strong analytical and reporting skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
