Job Summary

As SCM’s Director of Business Development, you will be in the corporate office contributing to the leadership of the construction group. This position will involve developing and executing a marketing plan, advancing strategic relationships with existing and potential customers, managing SCM’s CRM and backlog, and supporting our estimating team. The right candidate should be comfortable attending and managing trade show strategy and speaking engagements, working with customers to develop project scopes of work and overseeing the estimating team. Additionally, this position will require working with frontline managers, contractors, and executives to ensure each project is successful. The ideal candidate exemplifies leadership, is detail oriented, a self-learner, builder of processes, and comfortable maintaining a work-life balance in a fast-paced high-growth environment.

Results:

1. Six qualified leads per month leading to two awarded projects achieving SCM's backlog goals and revenue goals.

2. Attend ISS and SSA national and state conventions, manage the tradeshow booth, key engagements and speaking engagements

3. Manage all opportunities from infancy through breaking ground, ensuring they are qualified, funded and align with SCM's strategic goals.

  • Strategic and Tactical execution of SCM Strategic Plan.
  • Develop and oversee, and manage a marketing plan.
  • Manage company social media accounts and content strategy
  • Refine and execute Business Development Strategy to achieve annual revenue targets.
  • Responsibility for Salesforce and ensure it is consistently up to date.
  • Attending State and National Trade Shows.
  • Engage in speaking events at industry related trade shows and events.
  • Support recruiting and hiring of new team members.
  • Support the estimating team to ensure projects are awarded and completed successfully.
  • Vette customers to ensure projects are feasible including financing.
  • Ensure customers meet payment deadlines.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and communication plan(s) regarding projects among team and/or client.
  • Assist in project close-out procedures to ensure projects are turned over successfully.
  • Assist Project Manager in setting metrics for KPI’s that align with SCM and customers objectives.
  • Work closely with the project and construction management team to evaluate supplier performance indicators, invoices/billings, schedule, and budgets.
  • Perform customer NPS surveys during and following projects.
  • Assist in technology selection, consolidation and implementation to achieve automation and AI targets.
  • Attend and contribute to Pre-Mortem and Post-Mortem risk reviews.
  • Assist in annual planning and program build out of SOP’s.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
