Barbaricum is seeking a highly skilled Communication Planning Specialist to join a dynamic team in support of the US Army Futures Command (AFC) Headquarters in its mission to ensure war-winning future readiness. Personnel will support AFC’s HQ directorates, subordinate commands, research laboratories, innovation hubs, and Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs). An ideal candidate will play a key role in visually communicating the AFC mission, values, and strategic initiatives through creative and compelling design solutions. This role is vital in conducting, developing, and executing comprehensive communication plans to support AFC's strategic planning venues, outreach engagements, events, and operational planning initiatives.Responsibilities
- Conduct, develop, and perform comprehensive planning for supporting communication operations and the communication planning component of all AFC strategic planning venues and products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of communication plans with overall organizational goals
- Support the planning and development of strategic-level outreach engagements and events
- Coordinate with appropriate offices to ensure seamless execution of communication strategies and initiatives
- Develop and foster partnerships to enhance communication efforts
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective communication strategies
- Support AFC operational planning by developing and coordinating industry best-practice communication plans
- Prepare associated documents to facilitate clear communication of operational plans
- Participate in communication working groups, providing expertise and insights
- Collaborate with team members to draft communication products and documents
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of direct, relevant experience in the communications field supporting DOD organizations
- Proven experience in developing and implementing communication plans in a strategic setting
- Strong understanding of industry best practices in communication planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills
- Secret Clearance Required
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Communication or a related field
