Why We’re HiringWe’re looking for a Senior Automation Engineer with proven experience building distributed automation services from the ground up, supporting multiple platforms such as iOS, Android, and Web. While you are a hero building frameworks, your other super powers are marketing your work towards developers so they can contribute in scaling it, and collaborating with others.You will partner with each of our domain groups to not only write their first suite of tests, but also to understand their roadmaps so you can proactively provide them with the tools, support, and foundational knowledge that allows teams to create their own tests as part of our Definition of Done. The role requires a technical leader with the empathy to negotiate with teams’ needs in an ambiguous environment amid conflicting priorities.Our technology stack is built in Go, React, and React Native, running on MySQL, Redis and Algolia. We containerize and deploy with ECS on AWS. We are looking for someone who possesses a strong desire to implement change, growth, and maturity, and have a passion and love for what they do. This role comes with the opportunity to be a high performer within a department that’s fast-paced, dynamic, and quickly growing in all areas.Who You Are- 5+ years of experience writing automated tests, including integration, API and performance, and 2-3 years building frameworks.
- Experience writing durable automation suites to support highly synchronized, network-dependent systems such as auctions is a plus.
- Proficiency with at least one modern automation framework per platform, such as Cypress, Selenium WebDriver or Watir for Web, and Detox, TestSigma or Appium for apps.
- Strong knowledge of Typescript or advanced skills in JavaScript is a must.
- Ability to effectively communicate and partner with different contributors and stakeholders to build holistic solutions.
- Expertise with AWS.
- Expert knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices.
- Knowledgeable of emerging technologies, and assessing technological risk within a high-traffic production environment.
