We are currently recruiting for a remote, work from home, Junior Staff Accountant. The annual salary range for this position is $50,000-$65,000 depending on experience.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Process cash receipts (includes lockbox, ach receipts, credit card receipts) daily; ensure the proper application of cash receipts to customer invoices.
  • Reconcile cash accounts daily and report missing items.
  • Work closely with Logistics to resolve any purchase order discrepancies.
  • Post semi-monthly payroll journal entries timely and accurately.
  • Create monthly finance charge invoices.
  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable collections; working closely with account managers to collect past due accounts.
  • Work closely with Accounting Team on processing and reporting monthly sales commissions.
  • Perform month end account analysis. Create and post journal entries. Maintain monthly account reconciliations.
  • Assist with year-end audit.
  • Maintain existing accounting control processes and contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs and procedures.
  • Other duties as requested by Accounting Manager.
  • Constantly seek to improve processes and create efficiencies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years related experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong financial analysis skills required
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel required
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently; self-directed.
