Job Description

Allied is currently looking for a CNC programmer to provide programs to the shop floor in order to produce special product.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC programs for special products, ensuring their readiness for manufacturing production.
  • Ensure compliance with machining parameters and best practices to reduce tool failures and minimize cycle times.
  • Focus on cost reduction by optimizing machining practices to minimize cycle time for special products.
  • Manage ongoing enhancements and process updates for any programs created.
  • Review and verify CNC programs against design models using appropriate software to ensure accuracy and reduce the likelihood of error that could lead to scrap or rework.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address the root cause of issues that may affect the processing of special tools.
  • Maintain open communication and peer relationships with all associates involved in the process to promptly address and mitigate any issues that arise, ensuring right-first-time results and on-time delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand drafting processes and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of experience in a shop environment or formal programming training required.
  • Technical or vocational degree in machining or related field preferred.
  • CAD/CAM experience preferred.
  • Experience with setting up and operating CNC machines preferred.
  • Experience with FANUC controls preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 32 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours as needed.
