Job Description

Job Summary: The Logistics Analyst is responsible for the tracking and delivery of all distributed products.

Duties amp; Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Enter shipments into Oracle, create documents for import security filing (ISF) and customs clearance while monitoring the location of ocean and air shipments from the estimated time of departure through delivery. Communicate location updates to sales team and customer service.
  • Communicate professionally with custom brokers, freight forwarders, ocean carriers, warehouses, plants, and delivery carriers concerning the current status of shipments. Pay special attention to expedited shipments and temperature controlled products.
  • Coordinate Domestic Transportation operations including quoting and shipment set up.
  • Provide air and ocean import and export quotes.
  • Field occasional interdepartmental query regarding logistics, transportation, shipping/receiving and give guidance/advice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager

Requirements

Education amp; Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Will also accept equivalent combination of education and 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in logistics, purchasing, inventory control, and import/export documentation especially in regards to freight forwarders and custom brokers strongly preferred.
  • Certification for hazardous material shipments is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills amp; Abilities:

  • Knowledge of International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations for ocean shipments, Department of Transportation (DOT) for domestic shipments, and International Air Transportation Association (IATA) regulations for air shipments is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulatory information is a plus.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups and be self-motivated in both settings.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. This includes being proactive in your approach to all issues in order to identify or eliminate potential problem areas.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and good with numbers.

Work Environment:

  • This position operates primarily in a professional office environment.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
