Job Description

We are a business-to-business support service for independent mental healthcare businesses, which helps providers service a growing client base. We provide administrative and organizational services to simplify the processes of lead-generation, marketing, billing, and collecting payments from patients and insurers. Our teams support over 1,200 independent mental health providers, and in turn over 20,000 clients per week across 11 physical locations and Telehealth.

The Business Intelligence Engineer will develop and deploy reporting and analytics tools across the company to create efficiencies in reporting, identify actionable insights, and improve the delivery of our services. This role will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights through the creation of compelling visualizations and dynamic reporting tools; this involves digging-in to develop a keen understanding of how the business functions amp; measures success, and then going to work to deliver the right metrics and analytics. The role will collaborate closely with senior leaders, and manage a Business Data Analyst and supporting their professional growth. This role requires a combination of business acumen, technical skill, and eagerness to make an impactful contribution by supporting business managers across the company with accurate amp; easily accessible data analytics.

Requirements

  • Collaborate with business managers across the company to develop and maintain a keen understanding of how the business functions amp; measure success.
  • Engage with senior leaders to understand their informational needs and proactively suggest data-driven solutions to address business challenges.
  • Design and maintain PowerBI reports with a focus on user interaction and design, including fixing errors and other data-related problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective visualizations that drive strategic decision-making.
  • Train end-users on new reports and dashboards, ensuring clear understanding of tools and a clean hand-off to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and fine-tune business intelligence tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of existing reporting and make recommendations on improvements; staying abreast of the latest developments in BI tools, techniques, and practices.
  • Provide insight and recommendations on best practices for data structure and warehousing, for both new and existing data streams.
  • Obtain project requirements from key stakeholders and collaborate with the Business Data Analyst to outline and procure necessary data sets for the requested reports.
  • Maintain compliance to relevant laws and regulations regarding data privacy, particularly those pertaining to mental health information.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure data warehousing; integrate data from various sources while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop strong business relationships with both internal and external personnel.
  • Manage a Business Data Analyst, providing mentorship, guidance, and support in their daily activities, as well as professional development through regular feedback and goal setting.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Data Science.
  • Experience working closely with senior leaders and understanding their information needs.
  • Proficiency with UX design, and proven experience in creating impactful data visualizations and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, with the ability to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulations (e.g. HIPAA).
  • Strong leadership skills: the ability to develop team members and grow their skills, hold them accountable to goals and deadlines, and lead by example.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced skills in PowerBI, SQL, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment. 
  • Experience as part of a fast-growing company isstrongly preferred.
