Hire Resolve’s client is a leading Environmental Services firm that is urgently seeking the expertise of an Environmental Scientist in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Performs low flow and disposable bailer groundwater sampling, gauging and product bailing, and surveying.
- Performs oversight of monitoring well installations and prepares boring logs and well construction diagrams.
- Performs oversight of environmental construction work.
- Performs environmental sampling and monitoring of various media soil, groundwater, air.
- Compiles and completes field notes on each event/site.
- Researches information relating to identifying geological formations and soil delineation studies and prepares reports and geological maps based on the findings.
- Records data, prepares reports, and provides analysis of findings based on scientific experimentation and existing knowledge.
- Participates in the identification of viable remedial solutions consistent with all Federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensures adherence to client and corporate contract specifications in all activities including Health, Safety, Security, and Environment.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, Biology, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Ecological field work experience
- Possess strong technical writing skills and have experience writing detailed technical reports
- Working knowledge or strong interest in ArcGIS
- Enjoy working in both an office environment and in the field
- Interest in working with planners and designers to avoid and minimize ecological impacts
- Willingness and flexibility to travel for projects as needed
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Desire to provide exceptional client service
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to enjoy work independently and on a team
