The Insurance Product Manager leads a collaborative effort with internal and external partners, including Underwriting, Data Analytics, and external stakeholders to develop innovative insurance solutions for our customers. This very specialized role is responsible for the full product management lifecycle of assigned products. We are seeking an experienced Insurance Product Manager who:

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Drive development and implementation of new product ideas and concepts
-Use customer and data insights from the market, our sales funnel, competitors, and claims to inform insurance product development-Outline product and coverage strategies via creation or revisions of forms and rate/rules-Drive discussions with external reinsurance partners to gain buy-in on proposed recommendations
  • Monitor and measure the success of existing products and recommend improvements
-Make recommendations for development of product enhancements based upon competitor and market review-Develop, measure, and communicate product strategies to stakeholders-Act as a key liaison with internal and external actuarial/filing vendors to support product development and filings
  • Alongside Program Management, monitor project plans, budget, and schedules.
  • Provide advanced coverage analysis expertise and direction for policy forms
  • Identify and analyze industry trends, legislative changes, and new business opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement to ensure that products meet customer needs and are delivered in an easy to understand format
  • With the Data Analytics team, develop analytical tools to help the business effectively manage existing portfolios.
  • Perform responsibilities with intermediate understanding of quote and issuance systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to answer any product questions related to rates, product features, and underwriting guidelines in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Mentor, formally and informally, by becoming a subject matter expert for analysts across
  • Product Management and provide coaching to less experienced analysts or other non-Product Management team members.
  • Take an active role in onboarding new employees
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years' in a Product Development position focused on General Liability or five years' work experience in Underwriting or Claims with focus on Casualty Lines
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (e.g., SAS, Access, SQL).
  • Advanced knowledge of the General Liability line of business, some experience in Professional Liability/Errors amp; Omissions helpful
  • Advanced understanding of insurance workflows and concepts, including limits, coverages, pricing models and ISO products, including forms, rules, loss costs, and circulars
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of underwriting, systems, coverage, distribution channels, compliance, regulatory environment, and insurance financials preferred
  • CPCU, IIA, or other recognized insurance designations (examples: CPCU, ARM, CIC) preferred
  • Ability and desire to learn new software and analysis tools
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others in a team environment and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and agencies
  • Proficient planning, organizational, analytical, and decision making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
