Job Description

The Dallas office of our client is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Senior Business Intelligence Financial Analyst. As a key member of the Financial Planning amp; Analysis team, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in utilizing business intelligence data and analytics for reporting purposes. This position entails collaborating with the finance, accounting, and operations departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Responsibilities include gathering reporting requirements to enhance business intelligence, integrating data into BI tools in collaboration with IT, creating reports using Microsoft Power BI, working closely with IT to publish reports and dashboards, and providing end-user support for reporting and dashboard related issues.

Duties amp; Responsibilities:

  • Apply business intelligence tools like Tableau and Power BI for extracting, transforming, and visually representing data from internal tabular models and cubes.
  • Create interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to enable data-driven insights and facilitate decision-making.
  • Detect data gaps and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure precise and comprehensive data collection for financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to create and execute performance measurement frameworks and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Work closely with finance, accounting, operations, human resources, technology, and other operational departments to collect and evaluate financial and operational data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and deliver valuable insights and reports that facilitate decision-making and enhance business results.
  • Conduct analysis on financial data, trends, and performance indicators to identify potential opportunities or risks.
  • Create and maintain financial models, forecasts, and projections to support strategic planning and decision-making procedures.
  • Assist the Accounting team in preparing precise and prompt financial reports, which include income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analyses.
  • Monitor important financial indicators and offer actionable recommendations to enhance business performance.
  • Carry out thorough analysis of financial performance, such as profitability analysis, cost analysis, pricing analysis, and ROI assessments.
  • Assess financial and operational indicators to detect trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimizing processes and reducing costs.
  • Effectively communicate complex financial concepts and analysis outcomes to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements

Education amp; Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Preference given to candidates with a Master's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a business financial systems analyst
  • Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and technical skills
  • Strong working knowledge of business intelligence tools like Power BI or equivalent platforms
  • Demonstrated track record as a Financial Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or in a comparable role
  • Proficient in conducting thorough financial analysis, including the ability to interpret complex financial data and perform comprehensive financial modeling
  • Required to have advanced Excel skills, such as pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data manipulation
  • Solid knowledge of financial statements, budgeting processes, and financial metrics
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the capability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with SQL, data warehousing, and ETL processes is a plus
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial planning software is advantageous
