Job Description

The Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for providing clinical oversight to Patronus Medical’s destination locations within assigned east coast regional territory. The Clinical Manager also oversees the Maritime division of Patronus Medical. The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance with the provision of healthcare services, ensuring consistent practices, client satisfaction and oversight of clinical staff. The Clinical Manager works as a member of the medical leadership team and consults with executives to strategize and develop long term objectives across all clinical operations of the company.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Pre-Hospital Medicine, Para Medicine or the equivalent, required. Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a pre-hospital transport environment, including 911 response system experience or equivalent experience, required.
  • Vaild and unencumbered State Paramedic or Registered Nurse license, required.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS and PHTLS provider certifications, required.
  • AHA Instructor Certification in BLS required, ACLS and PALS strongly preferred.
  • Nationally Registered Paramedic and Caribbean Registered Paramedic, required, with willingness to meet Paramedic requirements/registration for other locations as needed.
  • Critical Care credentialing CCEMTP, CCP-C or FP-C (Paramedic) CCRN, CEN or CFRN (Nurse), strongly preferred.
  • Critical care transport experience, required. Air medical evacuation/transport experience preferred.
  • Current Driver’s License and a clean driving record, required.
  • Must possesses a valid US Passport.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership to and for clinical operations, practices and programs within Patronus Medical.
  • Ensures direction of clinical and operational staff throughout all domestic and international destination operations within the east coast territory.
  • Hires, manages and assigns paramedics, registered nurses or other allied health professionals according to skill and staffing level.
  • Works directly with location medical providers and managers to ensure smooth operations, including stocking of inventory, training and logistics.
  • Performs chart reviews, documentation of encounters and quality control to ensure appropriate medical practices are applied. Communicates with providers regarding reviews and findings.
  • Ensures the coordination of medical referrals and consultations between the onsite staff and Patronus physicians, including telemedicine consultations.
  • Ensures that program managers are maintaining all supplies, medical equipment and response vehicles according to manufacturer’s recommendations and Patronus procedures.
  • Directs the management of inventory of all medical supplies and equipment on the property and ensures that medications and supplies are restocked through the correct channels.
  • Develops and maintains policies, procedures and best practices for clinic and emergency response operations.
  • Oversees the standardization of patient care guidelines and protocols, including written standards of care for all clinical team members to follow.
  • Provides regular activity reporting to Destination clients.
  • Supports client relations activities through on-site visits, site risk assessments, vacation coverage for remote personnel, and regular interaction with Destination managers and club leaders.
  • Performs project amp; performance management of assigned staff, clients and events.
  • Provides training to all new and current employees; documents as appropriate.
  • Manages and oversees Patronus’ compliance programs (HIPAA, BBP/Exposure Control Plan, Controlled Substances) as assigned.
  • Maintains electronic medical records systems, medical documentation, and continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Ensures the completion of all administrative tasks related to clinical employee and contractor onboarding and travel. Communicates regularly with administrative office staff responsible for processing.
  • Ensures all duties are performed within the framework of Patronus' procedures and processes.
  • Oversees technology systems related to assigned Destinations and clinical operations.
  • Acts as on call Medical Resource Manager as scheduled.
  • Must have the ability and willingness to travel to client locations at least 40% of the time.
  • Performs all other relevant duties as assigned.
