Advocate Construction is seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant to join our team to work closely with the Corporate Counsel. The ideal candidate for this role is a detail-oriented, highly organized individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. Legal secretary or assistant experience is preferred, as is being a notary public.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize legal documents and correspondence, including mailing and distribution to relevant parties.
  • Respond to client inquiries and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support to internal departments when necessary.
  • Draft and compile contracts and legal demands based on provided templates.
  • Proofread and edit legal documents and communications from the corporate counsel.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents for litigation or regulatory matters.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information as the corporate counsel directs.
  • Maintain and update legal files and databases.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • An associate's degree in legal studies or equivalent experience is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary.
  • Notary Public.
  • Proficiency in the Google Enterprise suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Notary public certification is preferred.
