We are seeking to hire a Supervisor, Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse to join our Manufacturing Operations Team

JOB SUMMARY

The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations will increase company profitability and customer satisfaction by overseeing warehouse operations in a safe, secure, efficient and cost-effective manner that complies with company policy and OSHA, DOT and other applicable regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

  • Manage and schedule warehouse and delivery staff to ensure safe and efficient operation of all warehouse functions
  • Manage and schedule maintenance of company delivery vehicles; maintain a preventive maintenance program
  • Oversee warehouse operations to exceed expectations for productivity, daily workflow, product availability and accuracy
  • Manage the proper routing, loading and preparing orders for shipment and delivery in accordance with customer instructions
  • Manage the proper handling of inter-company transfers of inventory
  • Maintain all equipment in good working order
  • Plan and schedule all inventory activities including cycle counting, inventory transactions, auditing and reporting
  • Review, monitor and maintain required documents for safety, security and quality processes
  • Maintain the security of warehouse and grounds to reduce shrinkage
  • Develop and analyze reports and develop new policies, procedures and methods that improve operational efficiency; communicate results to management in other operational areas
  • Operate within budget and meet delivery times
  • Hire, train, schedule and manage a warehouse staff
  • Proficiently use required technologies including distribution and office software
  • Verify that forklift/truck operators are within regulatory compliance
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled
  • Resolve any delivery complaint issues quickly and effectively
  • Receipt, check and layout of incoming goods delivered by suppliers, subdivision in homogenous batches.
  • Assistance to QC for sampling activities
  • Preparation of materials required for production
  • Preparation of documentation for delivery to forwarding agents
  • Labeling of materials in compliance to existing procedures
  • Timely registration of all movements of goods within the warehouse and execution of all required administrative activity
  • Management of monthly physical inventory.
  • Update of registers of dispensing cleanings and weightings.
  • Management, control and maintenance of weighing instruments and handling machinery.
  • Upholds Company policies, including the Professional Conduct Policy and Prohibition Against Harassment Policy, and the Business Ethics and Conduct Code

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations or Logistics Management, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in similar position (Wholesale distribution or warehouse logistics) and previous Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of logistics, including carriers, shipping policies and procedures
  • Operates forklifts in compliance with Occupational Safety amp; Health Administration (OSHA) requirements
  • Experience implementing and maintaining safety initiatives
  • Demonstrated success managing inventory, including auditing, forecasting and planning
  • Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations
  • Use excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to deal positively with
    senior management, sales staff, employees, vendors and customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to work effective
