Job Description

Are you passionate about design and eager to make a tangible impact on the world? At Alpine, we're not just selling heating and cooling solutions; we're reshaping the future with a commitment to reducing global warming through high-efficiency and all-electric HVAC products. As the first and largest HVAC e-commerce retailer, we have pioneered a path to innovation and excellence. Our mission is bold, our approach is groundbreaking, and our customer satisfaction ratings soar to 4.85 out of 5.

In this pivotal role as a Senior Product Designer (UX/UI), you will be at the forefront of crafting an engaging, intuitive, and delightful digital experience for our customers and internal users. Your creativity and expertise will play a critical role in enhancing our user experience, designing never-before-seen tools and manifesting our goal of making the user’s experience so easy it’s almost fun.

Together, we will revolutionize how people choose and purchase HVAC solutions, making a significant contribution to a greener, more sustainable world. Join us and be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and iteration of new features and enhancements for our e-commerce platform and new software tools, focusing on creating a seamless, intuitive, and engaging user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including end-users, product managers, engineers, and marketers, to understand user needs and business goals, translating them into effective design solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform UX/UI decisions.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize design concepts and facilitate discussion and feedback.
  • Develop and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistent and high-quality user experiences across all digital touchpoints.
  • Manage and coordinate with external UX designers, ensuring their work aligns with project goals, design standards, and timelines. Provide guidance and feedback, and integrate their contributions effectively into the overall design process.
  • Analyze user feedback and usage metrics to identify areas for improvement and iterate on designing solutions accordingly.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in e-commerce, UX/UI design, and user research methodologies.

Requirements

  • Louisville, KY area resident.
  • Interest in a hybrid role of remote + Louisville office + occasional travel for in-person field research with users.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product and UX/UI design in an e-commerce or digital product environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in UX/UI design and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and InVision.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, UX research methods, and usability testing.
  • Experience in managing design projects, including overseeing freelance UX designers and coordinating their contributions to ensure alignment with project goals and design standards.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and a monthly gain-sharing bonus based on revenue growth
  • Group Healthcare, Health Savings Account, 401k retirement plan, and more
  • Paid vacation and paid holidays
  • Challenging and fulfilling work in a positive, optimistic results-oriented work environment
  • Paid educational and professional development training
