Job Description

The IT Support Technician provides Tier 1-2, or higher as able, level help desk support to Vanguard EMS, Inc. personnel and corporate owned assets. Assists in IT Department initiatives and projects. The IT Support Technician provides Tier 1-2, or higher as able, level help desk support to Vanguard EMS, Inc. personnel and corporate owned assets. Assists in IT Department initiatives and projects.

Requirements

What you’ll do:

  • Provide IT support for work orders, emails, and verbal requests in a timely manner.
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot company owned assets as well as perform end-user support for applications, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Maintain PCs with latest patches, BIOS upgrades, and software upgrades.
  • Maintain and update the Information Technology hardware and software inventory database.
  • Escalate issues to higher tier support personnel as needed, assisting in resolution for learning opportunity.


What you’ll need:

  • High energy, self-motivated, able to multi-task.
  • Demonstrate customer service and support abilities.
  • Ability to learn new skills and retain knowledge.
  • Skilled in usage of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and basic knowledge or ability to learn other work approved software as needed.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Must possess verifiable security and confidentiality skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a help desk environment (1 year+)
  • Experience supporting personal computer users in a networked environment. (1 year+)
  • Experience working in a Microsoft Active Directory domain environment
  • Higher Education or relevant certification(s) is a plus.
  • Work with network and phone cabling a plus.
  • Experience with Phone System/PBX a plus.
