The Role

We are seeking an experienced candidate to oversee our team of art directors and production artists who specialize in print design for packaging, in-store displays, and marketing initiatives. From an initial product idea to re-stocking retail shelves, we build brands with strong celebrity/influencer relationships, consumer connection, and global authority.

As an Associate Creative Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the print POS team's design work, across multiple brands. You will ensure consistency in the design of POS/POP materials, in-store displays, and marketing initiatives, and cast the vision for the creative and conceptual work of our dedicated POS team of designers amp; art directors. The candidate for this position should be familiar with various print methods, and actively seek to improve our work, along with keeping up with trends, and new technologies. You will lead by example by both designing, while also providing creative direction, guidance, and support to your team.

This position will be located in Louisville, KY but we are open to talking with candidates from outside that region. Relocation assistance will be included for eligible candidates.

The Responsibilities

  • Work closely with brand teams, creating high quality, competitive packaging, for e-commerce and retail distribution
  • Assist in overseeing quality control of all packaging and print materials
  • Concept campaigns and promotions with the marketing team
  • Set the bar high and get there fast without sacrificing quality for speed
  • Manage design team members and delegate tasks to complete projects
  • Produce sketches and storyboards, to visualize ideas and concepts
  • Present visual concepts and ideas in an organized, compelling, effective manner
  • Create pixel perfect, print ready packaging and label designs
  • Work with suppliers and vendors during all print-approval processes
  • Ensure designs consistently align with the established brand guidelines
  • Maintain and build upon look and feel, accuracy, functionality of each brand’s identity
  • Write comprehensive creative briefs for freelancers and other team members
  • Continue to learn new tools and techniques that can be applied to your design, typography,
  • composition and storytelling abilities
  • Have no problem rolling up your sleeves and hustling in order to get the job done
  • Be comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment where ambiguity and short turnaround schedules are the standard
  • Exhibit a high degree of ownership and accountability
  • Excel in managing multiple projects, priorities and people concurrently

Requirements

  • Strong illustration and pre-press production skills
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in print design, with a portfolio of applicable creative work
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading a team of designers
  • Strong knowledge of print design principles, including typography, layout, color theory, and packaging design
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation
  • Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • 3D/CGI experience is a plus but not required.
