Job Description
Solid Sealing Technology (SST) designs and manufactures small-scale electrical components used around the world. Our parts are found in many types of industrial, medical, and research facilities, and you will work with technologies used on equipment like energy storage systems, MRI machines, and particle accelerators. We have even sent parts to Mars! NASA'sMars Insight Missionuses components made right here in Watervliet, NY.
Position Summary
The Engineering Support Technician is responsible for supporting the members of the design engineering department with technical tasks, project support, and documentation. The Engineering Support Technician is responsible for some or all of the following, including other various duties as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Write test plans for new products.
- Design and build test fixtures.
- Perform various testing projects, including pressure, temperature, and electrical tests.
- Record and analyze test results to ensure product design goals are being achieved.
- Write test report/summaries of testing performed.
- Assist engineering team with recommendations to resolve testing problems.
- Participate in build process for prototype/first run products to ensure manufacturability and adequate build instruction.
- Review design engineers’ drawings/documentation for errors and completeness prior to release.
- Assist engineers and designers with the completion of drawings and solid models using Solid Works CAD system.
- Document weekly engineering meeting summary and action log.
- Assists Engineers with Design Plan/Design Review record keeping.
- Interacts with suppliers and test agencies to determine capabilities and ensure success.
Requirements
- AS in Engineering Science or a related field required.
- 1 year of engineering experience in a manufacturing organization preferred.
- Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD preferred.
- Adaptability to changing demands.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
- Ability to prioritize.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is a plus.

Annual Salary: $45,000-55,000 per year
