The Position

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Vice President, Impact amp; Innovation will build on the organization’s momentum to accelerate and drive the success of Team PA’s CSCs. Three CSCs have been activated in the past two years with two more poised to advance, tied to the adoption of a bold, new strategic plan. Review our most recent Annual Report to learn more about the specific recent activities of the three CSCs. The Senior Vice President, Impact amp; Innovation will be charged with maximizing the impact of the CSCs and building a shared, long-term vision of PA’s economic future across the public and private sectors, academia, labor and non-profits.

This role requires:

  • Strategic relationship building;
  • Managing a team that brings industry, business, policy, and project knowledge;
  • Navigating complex networks of individuals, organizations, and resources;
  • Analyzing the considerable data and research to understand the drivers of Pennsylvania’s economy;
  • Identifying opportunities and roles for CSCs to activate levers to effect change;
  • Leveraging people, partners, and resources to drive meaningful actions.

The Senior Vice President, Impact amp; Innovation will lead this portfolio of work to position Team Pennsylvania, together with our vast network of partners, to tackle the biggest opportunities in Pennsylvania’s economy that cannot be addressed by any single sector operating alone.

The Senior Vice President, Impact amp; Innovation position reports directly to Team Pennsylvania's President and CEO and will work closely with other senior leaders of the organization to accelerate economic growth through strategic leadership of CSCs. On a day-to-day basis, the Senior Vice President, Impact amp; Innovation leads, manages, and coordinates the work of multiple CSCs and is responsible for ensuring successful cross-coordination between those areas and with other areas in the organization. The Senior Vice President, Impact amp; Innovation is a skilled manager, with experience and comfort interacting with senior executives. The Senior Vice President, Impact amp; Innovation is nimble, transparent, able to lead in a nonpartisan capacity, thrives in a participatory leadership environment, and demonstrates a very high level of personal responsibility.

The following focus areas will be key for this role in the coming year:

Innovation amp; Growth Strategy
  • Lead and oversee CSCs in high-growth sectors to drive impact on the economic future of the Commonwealth. CSCs are the vehicles through which Team PA advances its agenda to accelerate economic growth, tackling high-impact strategies that require collaboration across public, private and nonprofit sectors.
  • Monitor economic trends and data for Pennsylvania, peer states, the region, nationally, and internationally
  • Work closely with internal marketing/communications/external relations team to capture and accurately tell Team Pennsylvania’s story of cross-sector collaboration and our unique value proposition to external partners and funders
  • Identify, track, and share metrics to capture economic growth, organizational impact, and ROI
Partnership Building amp; Engagement
  • Build relationships with leaders across business and industry, academia, public sector, organized labor, and nonprofit organizations and strategically leverage those relationships toward shared goals for accelerating Pennsylvania’s economy
  • Build, develop, and strengthen foundation relations, identifying grant opportunities to support organizational priorities and growth
  • Represent Team Pennsylvania at events, conferences, and external engagements as a leader of our CSCs
  • Support Team Pennsylvania's external communications strategy by assisting in the development of collateral material, web content, social media postings and presentations articulating the value of the CSCs
  • Work with external partners to harness resources for Team Pennsylvania to braid and leverage toward priorities identified in cross-sector collaboration
  • Support fundraising efforts in partnership with development team

  • Build and manage a highly effective and cohesive team that delivers on Team Pennsylva
