SALT Dental Collective, a growth service organization, is seeking a Director of Payroll to lead and manage its payroll function. As the Director of Payroll, you will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of the company's payroll for multiple locations. You will also be responsible for managing a team of payroll specialists, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with state and federal payroll regulations. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in payroll management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the entire payroll process, including processing and validation of payroll data, calculation of wages, and tax withholding.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Supervise and mentor a team of payroll specialists.
- Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll-related changes and updates.
- Prepare payroll reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and best practices.
- Resolve payroll-related issues and inquiries from employees.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline and automate payroll processes.
- Manage relationships with payroll vendors and ensure service levels are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a multi-location and/or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance.
- Experience managing and leading a team of payroll specialists.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in payroll software programs and MS Office.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
